Our Editor's Take

Bombing with Eric Andre is a comedy podcast. Host Eric has worked on many movies and television shows including Jackass Forever and Sing 2. He became famous because of The Eric Andre Show. In it, he spoofs a late-night talk show host and interviews celebrities. Social media fans may recognize the host for a famous meme featuring him.

Like many stand-up comedians, Eric's biggest failures happened on stage. On Bombing, he interviews other comedians about their most embarrassing moments. While the best comedians make it look easy, making people laugh is a tough job. Factors outside of the performer's control can ruin a routine. Things like time of day and lack of attention from the crowd can make jokes fall flat. Once the audience has turned, it's almost impossible to get them back.

The comedians that come on Bombing are Eric's colleagues from the world of comedy. Jay Jurden has appeared on several late-night shows. He remembers one moment when, out of desperation, he tried to sing his way out of bombing. It didn't work. DJ Douggpound has created sketch shows, including Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! He tells Eric about a time when he performed at a festival in the woods of New Zealand. The crowd expected a DJ and got Douggpound instead. They threw things at him and stole his mic.

Anyone who has wondered what comedians are like when they're not performing might enjoy the podcast. Eric's guests can see the humor in everyday situations. They point out the ridiculous, even if it's also commonplace. Bombing with Eric Andre is a great choice for people who love stand-up comedy. New episodes premiere every Wednesday.
