new year, same goals. my goals have always been the same and yet another year has passed and i want 2024 to be the year that i finally make the change! now that i have a podcast that will hold me accountable, please attack me if i don't. i am so so excited for what this year has in store for me ESPECIALLY because i will be turning 25 this year which is absolutely sickening. i love you all and let's kill it this year!

sorry this is a little late i am trying to get back into the weekly posting schedule after being completely stuffed and relaxed this thanksgiving break. but... for those of you who do not know, i went to the university of florida for college and honestly i was shocked too because erin & the heat do not go well together. i 10000% sidetracked answering the main question of “why did you decide to go to florida for college?” but i hope i entertained you with some of my stressful college application days & college memories and that I have been reminiscing a lot on.

happy 24th birthday to me!!! so weird how fast another year has passed and even though i am still young, i am getting worried about how old i am getting LOL (don’t hate me unnies!) although this isn't the typical "answering a question" podcast episode, i wanted to include a list of lessons that i compiled at the age of 22 and i never got to talk about it so here it is + 2 more lessons! i altered some things here and there depending on the lessons that i have learned in the past two years and i can’t stress enough. i hope everyone is able to relate to these lessons and take them to heart, as i am trying to do so every day as well. can’t believe how much my life has changed in over a year and how different it is now so please take my lessons and stories with you and try to apply these lessons into your life as well! love you all and let's make this our year

i sincerely apologize for missing last week's episode but mentally, i needed a break. i've always wanted to read some messages from my teachers and friends i met throughout high school who are apart of my "important people in my life" crusty dusty book and i decided that this week would be the best time to read some of them because your girl needed some encouragement. living in your 20s is honestly really difficult because you are so unsure of everything whether it is your career, friendships, relationships, and more and i felt all of that coming upon me the past two weeks and really needed as much encouragement as possible. i hope that one day i can see myself the same way as the people who have seen me grow and love me, see me for and this definitely helped me a lot this week.

talking about mental health is hard and will always be hard. no matter how "awkward" or taboo the topic of mental health is, if you are going through something that you can't control, it is okay to ask for help. talking to my parents about mental health is still hard even to this day, but it is something that i was able to build up the courage for when i was in high school and was able to get help for. if i never had the courage to talk about it to them, i honestly don't know what my life would be like now. opening up this very personal experience and discussion to everyone listening, is very difficult for me but i do think that mental health is something that you should not be ashamed of and be able to talk about it freely. listen to today's episode on how i overcame my fear and embarrassment in talking to my parents about mental health and ways that can one day help you build the courage to do

everyone has been there and it for sureee does not feel good when you lose a friend. going through friend breakups are hard for anyone, whether it ended in resentment or simply just because you guys have drifted apart, it's something that you may miss or think about from time to time. while i explain three of my most memorable friend breakups and how i (sort of) got over them, i want everyone to know that the past is in the past and all you can do is thank them for being in your life for even a little bit & appreciate the memories that you have made with them

nothing is as embarrassing as looking back on your old middle school pictures and seeing your god-awful outfit with that awkward smile that you thought looked great. middle school is definitely one of those times that you want to forget completely but are grateful that you have changed in so many ways and that is what today's topic is going to be about! from hating yourself and being insecure of being "different" than your friends or trying so hard to "fit in", i talk about the stuggles of a korean-american girlie who's biggest wish was to be white in middle school.

on today's episode of ask unnie, i talk about how much being an only child has shaped me and how it really isn't something people should be jealous about. this question was one of my true motivators on why i wanted to start this podcast because i wanted to be the "sister you never had" if you are going through some problems and feel like you don't have someone to go to. to the people who have siblings, and wish their siblings would just leave them alone, listen to this episode and make sure to give your siblings some extra love today because you guys are lucky to have a person you can call your sibling :)
