As we have learned several times over the past year, accounting and bookkeeping are NOT the same. Many of you probably already knew this. We did not.
Erin Pohan, owner of upkeeping.co, is an accountant who owns a bookkeeping company. She takes us through her journey of becoming a business owner (hint: she was asked at an interview why she was applying for the job when she could just own her own company. Sometimes, hiring managers are THE best) and what’s it’s been like to grow so much in just one year of official business.
Erin’s path is an international one and we’re so glad she’s landed back in Seattle. It’s not often you see someone in your age and stage in a position to empower you with numbers, at least not in the creative space. Erin chats with us on a day that she was on pain killers after breaking her elbow—she’s a real workhorse and has a lot of knowledge to drop.
