Today in conversation with #awardwinning #author Christina Ray Stanton who has penned her personal experience about the harrowing experience 20 years ago when the #planes hit the #twintowers. Out of the Shadow of 9/11: An Inspiring Tale of Escape and Transformation is a heart rending account that narrates the story of the #fateful day with a different perspective. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, Christina Ray Stanton's life changed forever.  As the new dawn of #terrorism began, the Manhattan resident and her husband fearfully witnessed the impact just six blocks away from #GroundZero.  As toxic dust spread into the air, the Stantons boarded a boat which was the largest evacuation off the island and into the unknown.

With a close friend dead and their beloved dog clinging to life, the Stantons' faith in God was tested. But after months away from her home, Christina trusted in a higher purpose to claim a stronger future. She had moved to NYC just months after the original 1993 WTC bombing. She witnessed the attacks from her 24th-floor terrace apartment just six blocks from the Twin Towers. She was trapped with her husband and dog in Battery Park when the Towers fell, and returned to her apartment only next January. Her dog #passedaway from cancer related to #toxins he #inhaled on #9-11. Christina has been a licensed tour guide since 1995 and has taken hundreds of tourists up to the original #WTCobservatory and toured the complex for years before 9/11.
