The Consumer Institute has had more than a hundred complaints in the last year about supermarkets, ranging from overcharging to a lack of specials and frustration over higher prices on basic foodstuffs.

Only a month ago the Commerce Commission reported that the $22 billion dollar grocery sector was not working well for New Zealanders and now the cost of living crisis is directly affecting the government’s fortunes in opinion polls.

Consumer Institute CEO Jon Duffy joined Tova on Friday morning.
