Jake Sommers everyone! As the drummer for Luke Combs, Jake is the master of not only the drum kit but the master of building community and it's that kind of combo that can land you one of the biggest gigs in country music. Jake relocated from his hometown in New York to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue playing drums. Jake started drumming in the honky tonk scene on Broadway in downtown Nashville. Shortly after, he met singer-songwriter /artist by the name of Luke Combs. Jake became Luke Combs touring drummer in 2015. Over the course of Jake’s time touring with Combs, Jake has made appearances on The Grammys, Saturday Night Live, The Today Show, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America, CMA Awards, ACM Awards, CMT Awards, and the IHeart Awards. When Jake is not on the road he’s teaching in person and remote drum lessons to students across the country. Jake also, does recording sessions in studio and remote. In the past year Jake has been nominated for Country Drummer of the Year in the 2022 Drumeo Awards and Country/Americana Drummer of the Year in Modern Drummer’s 2023 Reader’s Poll. Two years later, Wockner scored a global win at the International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA,) becoming the first and only Australian to ever win top honors. The creative chameleon who recently signed deals with both Dream Big Dreams Management and Universal Attractions Agency (UAA) draws in a deep breath. “When you go to a music festival or a big show these days, everything is choreographed to an inch of its life. Bands play to tracks and there’s months and months of rehearsals and it’s the same guitar solo every time. (Pauses.) I will never sound as ‘polished’ as that, but I don’t think I want to. People want to hear what life is like, and life is sometimes a challenge.” And while Wockner loves himself a good challenge, he also has come to love the pristineness of the game of golf, a sport he learned to play under the watchful eye of his grandmother and a sport that he could easily have made his career.  “I love shutting my brain off from everything else but what I’m doing in that moment,” explains Wockner, who happened to headline the Opening Ceremony of PGA Honda Classic earlier this year. “Anybody who legit meditates will roll their eyes at this, but for me, it’s a form of meditation. All I think is that I’m going to take this seven iron and draw this ball over the edge of that trap. And crazy enough, it usually does. Gears is a vintage-skewed indie funk and rock band formed in Tuscaloosa, AL by Chandler Grammer and Christian Crew, who have since moved the operation to Nashville, TN. As a professional bass player based out of Nashville, TN, Jon is not only an amazing musician, but he is a great person to be around. He turned what is supposed to be a "10 year town" into a 10 month town. We have been looking forward to hanging out with Timothy Burkhead for a long time! It was so cool to be able to chat with him about his many endeavors. Timothy is not only the drummer for Maggie Rose, but the founder of TM Inc and Cues. Maggie Rose has created a heck of a name for herself as she and her band have played the Grand Ol Opry 100+ times, and shared the stage with artists like Kelly Clarkson, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Heart, Joan Jett, Eric Church, and many more. Since Timothy joined as Maggie's drummer, they have been hitting the road hard, and it has been so inspiring to see how much their work is paying off! Timothy is also serving the drumming community with his invention of Cues. This is a labeling system for drum pads, midi keys | controllers, and road cases. I have seen Cues pop up more and more with touring drummers in Nashville, as there is clearly a need for an easy way to label their triggering pads while on stage for easy use. In addition, Timothy is also the founder of TM Inc. TM Inc. provides on-the-road support, live event consultation, and tour coordination services for live music professionals of all budgets and experience levels.
