All the things that happen in this world as we try to pursue the Eden we were made for! We run after this thing and that person and all the experiences in an attempt to fill the void that only God can fill. But we'll always run up short and wind up disappointed if we try to pursue life outside of the One who is Himself, Life. Any attempt to have "the kingdom without the King" ends up in Babylon. And James' letter in the New Testament reminds us that if we try to be friends with the world's system (Babylon), we make ourselves enemies of God. But God has such better things planned for us.
